Installation & Configuration of Oracle Configuration Manager for EBS.

In this Blog I have explained how you can configure Oracle Configuration Manager for Oracle E-Business Suite.

Step 1: Download the latest setup for OCM from the Oracle Support Website as per the OS platform.

Download Link:  https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/CollectorHome?_adf.ctrl-state=181kh900qr_4&_afrLoop=543226244821158

Step 2: Delete the existing “ccr” directory under the “Application Home” and “Database Home” on both servers if they are not on the same machine.

Step 3: Copy the downloaded latest software of OCM to the “Oracle home” and “Application Home” on the respective servers.

Step 4: Upzip the downloaded file to the “Oracle Home”  and “Application Home” location on the respective servers.

Step 5: Before proceeding further with the Installation Check connectivity with the internet.

The example used in this document is for the EBSSUP

===============================================

POST INSTALLATION STEP ON THE DATABASE SERVER { Instrumenting the Database of Configuration Collection}

===============================================

Run the post installation Scripts on the database server for specific home. To configure the database for configuration collection, perform the following steps:

Navigate to the scripts folder :

(EBSSUP) (/app/oracle/product/ebssup/db_1/ccr/bin)

oracle@testoradb1 $ cd /app/oracle/product/ebssup/db_1/ccr/admin/scripts/

Here in this folder we have to run the “installCCRSQL.sh” script which will prompt for the SYSDBA-USER Password.

(EBSSUP) (/app/oracle/product/ebssup/db_1/ccr/admin/scripts)

oracle@testoradb1 $ ./installCCRSQL.sh  collectconfig  -s EBSDEV –r  sys

Provide password for “SYS”:

Successfully installed collectconfig in the database with SID=EBSSUP.

Note:

For the RAC databases the “installCCRSQL.sh” must be run against only one instance, but OCM must be installed in all the instance homes.

=========================================

ADDITIONAL STEP FOR EBS DATABASE ONLY

=========================================

EBSDEV) (/app/oracle/product/ebsdev/db_1/ccr/bin)

oracle@testoradb1 $ cd /app/oracle/product/ebsdev/db_1/ccr/admin/scripts/

For the EBS database run the “installCCRSQL.sh” with the “ebs_collectconfig” option.  The –u parameter in the syntax is mandatory value for which is the “Oracle application User” and –s  option specifies the SID of the database.

(EBSSUP) (/app/oracle/product/ebsdev/db_1/ccr/admin/scripts)

oracle@testoradb1 $ ./installCCRSQL.sh ebs_collectconfig -u APPS -s EBSSUP

Provide password for “APPS”:

Successfully installed ebs_collectconfig in the database with SID=EBSSUP.

Step 7: Navigate back to the CCR bin directory and issue the “emCCR collect” command to upload the configuration to the MOS.

(EBSSUP) (/app/oracle/product/ebsdev/db_1/ccr/admin/scripts)

oracle@testoradb1 $ cd /app/oracle/product/ebssup/db_1/ccr/bin

(EBSSUP) (/app/oracle/product/ebssup/db_1/ccr/bin)

oracle@testoradb1 $ ./emCCR collect
